This is a conversation I had with Paddy Hoey, editor of Gobshite’s Miscellany, about blogging and podcasting and the future of new media and old.
Mind you, Paddy did most of the talking.
We recorded it over an ordinary BT landline with a SSS RTL-650 from Solid State Sound.
Hi Malachi
Many thanks for a fascinating interview with Paddy Hoey – very enjoyable and helpful.
I download a number of podcasts each week so that I can ‘time shift’ them – I want to choose when to listen to my favourite programmes ie down time when I am doing the ironing (yes I am an iron man), in the car, out walking or even when a moving moment requires ‘sitting’ in the ‘drafty little shed at the bottom of the garden’!
The radio (i.e. sound) is very under rated – give me Radio 4 or Ulster any day before the TV. For me ‘home made radio’ (i.e. podcasts) has just added to my pleasure.
Good to hear two experts sharing their wisdom with us incoherent 95%ers – thanks Paddy! Watch out for my blog soon – after about 50 years I might catch up with the 5%.
Keep up the good work Malachi.
